Welcome to the Deutschland-Ticket
One ticket and you have 357,952 km² in your pocket: with the Deutschland-Ticket for 49 euros (58 euros from 01.01.2025, existing subscriptions automatically continue to run at the new conditions) a month, you can use all public transport buses and trains throughout Germany. Take the train spontaneously, get on or off wherever you like, commute to work in a relaxed manner or explore all the corners of your favourite city, go to a concert or visit relatives far away – it has never been more convenient to implement your plans in an environmentally friendly and inexpensive way without a jungle of fares. The Deutschland-Ticket can also be used as a JobTicket for adults and trainees or as an upgrade to the VBN-SemesterTicket. Conditions
Can be taken out from the 1st day of a month. But it is important to remember that the application must have been made by the 10th day of the previous month. Immediate access to the Deutschland-Ticket is possible at any time via the FahrPlaner App. You pay monthly in advance by direct debit.
Use
Valid for one person. No accompanying passengers, bikes or dogs permitted. Children under 6 can generally travel with you for free.

The ticket is valid all over Germany on all local trains (2nd class), buses, trams and underground trains. Not valid on long-distance transportation (ICE and IC/EC) with the exception of the route between Bremen Hauptbahnhof and Norddeich Mole. It's also not valid on transportation intended for tourism or historic purposes.
Period of Validity
Monthly subscription that can be cancelled. The Deutschland-Ticket is always valid for one calendar month and is automatically extended if it is not cancelled for the next month by the 10th day of the current month.
Cancellation
If your mobility needs have changed, you can cancel your Deutschland-Ticket subscription on a monthly basis. Information is available here (only available in German).
The quickest and easiest way to purchase your Deutschland-Ticket subscription (which has a monthly cancellation option) is by using either of the VBN apps: FahrPlaner or ABOS IM VBN. If you don’t have a smartphone and wish to use the Deutschland-Ticket as a chip card, the relevant transport company will send your Deutschland-Ticket out to you (linked pages only available in German).

Conditions
Since the launch of the Deutschland-Ticket, it has been possible to offer employees the Deutschland-Ticket as a JobTicket. Employers who want to offer a JobTicket to their employees conclude a framework agreement with one of the subscription companies in the VBN (Bremer Straßenbahn AG, BREMERHAVEN BUS or Verkehr und Wasser GmbH). Employers can subsidise the Deutschland-Ticket as JobTicket as they wish.

Term of Validity
The framework agreement on a Deutschland-Ticket as JobTicket between the company and the subscribing company has a term of 12 months. If no cancellation is received, it is automatically extended by 12 months.

Conditions
Students who are holders of a valid VBN SemesterTicket, have the option of adding a D-Ticket upgrade to their VBN SemesterTicket. The VBN SemesterTicket becomes a Deutschland-Ticket by paying the difference of 49 euros (58 euros from 01.01.2025).

The ticket is valid only in conjunction with a VBN SemesterTicket and only in conjunction with valid, official photo ID to prove identity. Purchase is voluntary, which means that the students can buy the upgrade ticket if required.
The upgrade can be purchased digitally in the “FahrPlaner App” and in the “ABOS IM VBN App”.
